AceShowbiz - Meghan Trainor has announced the cancellation of her upcoming Get In Girl Tour, which was originally set to begin this June. The pop artist revealed on April 16 via social media that the decision was made after careful consideration due to the challenges of balancing her new album release, touring commitments, and caring for her growing family.
In an Instagram story, Meghan Trainor explained, "After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I've made the decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour." She cited the difficulty of managing the simultaneous demands of launching her new album Toy With Me, preparing for a national tour, and welcoming her new baby girl as the primary reasons for stepping back.
Meghan Trainor emphasized the importance of being present for her family, stating that she needs to focus on her home life at this time. She apologized to her fans for the disappointment but reassured them that this choice was essential for her and her family’s well-being.
The Get In Girl Tour, produced by Live Nation, was announced last November and featured special guests Icona Pop. The arena tour was scheduled to kick off on June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan, and proceed to major cities including Toronto, Chicago, Philadelphia, Nashville, Houston, and more. The tour was set to include iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, spanning a total of 26 shows.
Despite the cancellation, Meghan Trainor expressed her eagerness to return to touring, promising fans, "I promise I'll be back soon, and I can't wait for you to hear this new record." She also shared her pride in the new album and deep gratitude for her supporters’ ongoing love and encouragement.
Meghan Trainor's new album, Toy With Me, is scheduled for release on April 24 through Epic Records. The project will be her seventh studio album and includes singles such as "Still Don't Care," "Get In Girl," and the recently released "Shimmer."
Earlier this year, in January, Meghan Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Mikey Moon Trainor. The couple already has two sons, Riley, who is four years old, and Barry, who is two. When sharing the news of their newest addition, Meghan Trainor revealed that her older sons were excited to have a baby sister and even helped choose Mikey’s middle name.
Reflecting on her family life, Meghan Trainor noted on social media, "We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all." This sentiment aligns with her current decision to focus on her family and upcoming album.
Fans anticipating the Get In Girl Tour will have to wait a bit longer, but Meghan Trainor has assured them that she will return to the stage when the time is right. Meanwhile, listeners can look forward to experiencing her latest musical work upon its release later this month.
