AceShowbiz - Seasons 1 and 2 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are heading to home video. Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment announced that both seasons of the epic series, set in the fabled Second Age of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, will be available as 4-disc 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD sets on November 3.

A limited edition 4K UHD SteelBook release will follow on December 1. According to the announcement, both seasons will also be available as Amazon exclusive 4K UHD gift sets featuring limited edition SteelBook packaging and collectible art cards, releasing December 1.

The physical media releases include behind-the-scenes bonus content. Season 1 of The Rings of Power made its debut on Prime Video in September 2022, followed by the Season 2 premiere in August 2024. The award-winning series is one of the highest performing and most-viewed titles ever on Prime Video, with over 185 million viewers worldwide to date.

Set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, the epic drama follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital Lindon, from the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

Season 1 of The Rings of Power was led by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. They were joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, J.A. Bayona, Belén Atienza, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, Gennifer Hutchison, Bruce Richmond and Sharon Tal Yguado, and producers Ron Ames and Christopher Newman. Wayne Che Yip was co-executive producer and directed along with Bayona and Charlotte Brändström.

Season 2 was produced by showrunners and executive producers Payne and McKay. They were joined by executive producers Weber, Greene, Doble, Cahill and Hutchison, along with co-executive producer and director Brändström, producers Kate Hazell and Helen Shang, and co-producers Clare Buxton, Andrew Lee, Glenise Mullins and Matthew Penry-Davey. Additional Season 2 directors were Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper.

The announcement was accompanied by praise for the series. "It's everything you love about The Lord of the Rings -- the wonder, the spectacle, the heart," said Simone Boyce of Access Hollywood. Dave Morales of Fox TV Houston called it "a visually stunning adventure," while Grant Hermanns of ScreenRant described it as "a masterpiece."

Official trailers for both seasons have been released, offering a look at the series ahead of its physical media debut.
