Alongside the trailer, Spectrum has dropped the premiere date for 'L.A.'s Finest', which marks Spectrum's first original series.

AceShowbiz - Spectrum has unearthed the first official trailer for its much-anticipated first original series "L.A.'s Finest", an upcoming "Bad Boys" spin-off. Starring Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union, the trailer gives a better a look at the new series which will feature "bomb, sexy, fun action show."

The series follows Syd Burnett, Union's character from "Bad Boys II", and picks up more than a decade after the events of the movie. The series sees Syd, who is the sister of Martin Lawrence's Marcus and the love interest to Will Smith's Mike, being an LAPD detective and is partnered with Nancy McKenna (Alba).

The trailer sees Syd directing guns to a few of men before Nancy joining in, saying, "Daaaamn! It's a party in here!" Their relationship is not the best at first, but at one point, they seem to realize that they need to get along forever to get better. "We have to trust each other. Let me help you," Nancy says to Syd over beers.

According to its official logline, "the one-hour series follows Syd Burnett (Gabrielle Union), last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, who has seemingly left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), a working mom with an equally complex history, Syd is forced to confront how her unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret. Taking on the most dangerous criminals in Los Angeles while skirting the rules, and speed limits, Syd and Nancy become a force to be reckoned with -- on the streets, and in each other's lives."

The cast also includes Zach Gilford as Ben Walker, Duane Martin as Ben Baines, Ryan McPartlin as Patrick McKenna, Sophie Reynolds as Isabel "Izzy" McKenna and Ernie Hudson as Joseph Vaughn. In addition to starring on the 13-part series, Union and Alba are serving as executive producers. They are joined by "Bad Boys" franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Also executive producing are Jonathan Littman ("CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"), KristieAnne Reed ("Lucifer"), Brandon Margolis ("The Blacklist"), Brandon Sonnier ("The Blacklist"), Pam Veasey ("CSI: NY"), Doug Belgrad ("Peter Rabbit"), Jeff Gaspin ("To Tell the Truth"), Jeff Morrone ("Atomic Blonde") and Anton Cropper ("Suits"). Cropper also directed the pilot.

Alongside the trailer, Spectrum has dropped the premiere date for "L.A.'s Finest". The new series will premiere on May 13 on Spectrum.
