AceShowbiz - "The Voice" aired a new episode of its Blind Auditions of season 16 on Monday, March 11. John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine were back to their respective musical chairs, waiting for some talented singers to add to their teams.
Kicking off the night was Beth Griffith-Manley, the daughter of The Funk Brothers' member Johnny Griffith. She opted to sing "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" by Aretha Franklin, making John and Kelly turn their chairs for her. "You nailed it," John exclaimed. Beth eventually picked Kelly as her coach.
Selkii then performed a unique version of Macy Gray's "I Try". Blake and Adam loved it and they hit their buttons for her. "You're definitely the complete package," Blake told Selkii. "I'd love to be apart of your journey here on 'The Voice' and in South Africa when I get to open for you there someday." Unsurprisingly, Selkii went to Team Blake.
Denton Arnell then hit the stage to sing Drake's "Hold On, We're Coming Home". John immediately turned for Denton as he told him that he was "really creative with the melody." Before taking off the stage, Denton asked his girlfriend Tiffany out on stage and then he got on his knees to pop the question. It was sweet and adorable, especially when they accidentally bumped their heads. Tiffany said yes! Congratulations!
Next up was Ciera Dumas, who performed "Tell Me You Love Me" by Demi Lovato. Adam and John loved what they heard, with John standing up mid her performance. "You are spectacular!" gushed Adam. Both of the coaches wanted her but Ciera chose Adam over John.
It was then followed with a performance by Andrew Sevener. He sang The Rolling Stones' "Honky Tonk Women" and Blake didn't need much time to turn his chair for Andrew. As no one else turned, Andrew automatically went to Team Blake. The next singer was Mari, who offered a stunning rendition of Ella Mai's "Boo'd Up". Adam, John and Kelly turned their chairs at the beginning of her performance. Despite John's experience in collaborating with Ella, Mari picked Adam as her coach.
Crystal Rose opted for Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" for her performance that night. Unfortunately, no one turned for her but she was invited to The Comeback Stage by the fifth coach Bebe Rexha. Later, country singer Abby Kasch hit the stage to sing a rendition of "Here for the Party". That earned Abby chair turns by Blake and Kelly. Suprisingly, Abby chose Kelly.
Mikaela Astel hit the stage to sing a gorgeous rendition of Borns' "Electric Love", and both Kelly and John turned their chairs. "Your tone cannot be taught," Kelly praised the 14-year-old. Mikaela went to Team Kelly. Meanwhile, Anthony Ortiz performed One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" and later ended up on Team Adam. John also got another singer on his team with Olive Blu.
Singing "...Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears was Kayla Seeber. None of the coaches turned, though they noted that they loved her vibe. She was given another chance as she headed to the Comeback Stage.
Rounding out the night was 33-year-old Shawn Sounds. He performed K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life" and totally impressed John, Adam and Blake when he hit those high notes. It didn't take long for Kelly to join them as he also turned her chair around.
John said that Shawn had "one of the best ending runs I've ever heard," and with that, Shawn went to Team John.
