The Adam Levine-fronted rock band collects 1.6 billion total views for its 'Girls Like You' music video on the video-streaming platform, dominating over Drake and Ariana Grande among others.

AceShowbiz - The popularity of Maroon 5's smash hit "Girls Like You" has powered the rockers to number one on video-streaming platform Vevo's global Top Artists list for 2018.

The band, fronted by Adam Levine, racked up a stunning 1.6 billion total video views for the year ending 30 November, beating Colombian singer Sebastian Yatra, who is second with 1.5 billion hits, just ahead of pop star Becky G and rapper Drake, who are tied third with 1.4 billion clicks.

Latin superstars J Balvin and Karol G, and Ariana Grande also cracked the billion-views milestone worldwide.

Meanwhile, Drake was America's Top Artist, accumulating 490 million views, putting him ahead of newcomer Ella Mai (337 million), Migos (301 million), Maroon 5 (299 million), and rapper Tyga (226 million).

Each of the U.S. top five also earned mentions on the nation's most-watched videos poll, with Maroon 5's celebrity-packed "Girls Like You" attracting 250 million views, edging out Drake's "God's Plan" with 246 million. The Canadian hitmaker's "Nice For What" was another popular play, adding 134 million views to his tally.

Other popular promos in the U.S. included Mai's "Boo'd Up" (224 million), Tyga's "Taste" (182 million), Childish Gambino (Donald Glover)'s "This Is America" (165 million), Post Malone's "Psycho" (158 million), and Ariana's "No Tear's Left to Cry" (108 million).
