The 'Bird Box' actress comes up with the solution after Kevin Hart stepped down from the hosting duty due to his controversial tweets.

AceShowbiz - The Academy may consider Sandra Bullock's idea if they can't find Kevin Hart's replacement for Oscars hosting duty. The actress has come up with an unorthodox solution to fill the void left by the comedian after he bowed out of the gig earlier this month.

Met at the screening of her new movie "Bird Box", the Academy Award-winning actress suggested that "random actors should be pulled out of the audience and read what's on the teleprompter to cover a segment of the show."

She added that organizers "don't even have to tell them it's happening, just put up the teleprompter, and go, 'it's your turn.' " She said, "You're an actor, figure it out." Of how she came up with the idea, she jokingly said, "I just pulled that out of my butt. It's amazing."

Despite coming up with the solution, Bullock said she's not attending the 2019 Academy Awards. She, however, was more than willing to participate in her idea if it were used and she came.

The Academy is still scrambling to find a new host for the 91st annual ceremony after Hart stepped down as the host due to the backlash he received over his old jokes and remarks which were deemed homophobic. Initially refusing to apologize for his offensive remarks, he wrote on Twitter on December 6, "I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year's Oscar's....this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists." He added, "I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past."

Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the Academy Awards in 2017 and 2018, has proposed himself as a replacement. Meanwhile, four-time Oscars host Whoopi Goldberg suggested that "Crazy Rich Asians" actor Ken Jeong should be picked as the host.
