J. Cole and Cam'ron agree to settle "Ready '24" lawsuit; court filing confirms deal, dismissal expected within 30 days.

AceShowbiz - The longstanding legal dispute between Cameron Giles and J. Cole over the song "Ready '24" is moving toward resolution. According to a court filing made on Tuesday, May 26, in Manhattan federal court, both parties have agreed in principle to settle the lawsuit regarding the 2024 track.
In the filing, Cole's attorney, Christine Lepera, indicated that the defendants, with the plaintiff’s consent, have reached an agreement in principle to resolve all outstanding claims. The letter states that settlement documents are being finalized and the process is expected to conclude within 30 days.
The court order proposes a conditional dismissal of the case without costs and without prejudice, allowing either party to request reopening if the settlement paperwork is not completed in the specified timeframe. As a result, a pretrial conference that had been scheduled for May 28 was canceled.
The lawsuit originated in October 2025 when Cam'ron sued J. Cole, asserting that he contributed both lyrics and vocals to the song "Ready '24" but was not compensated. The track was featured on Cole’s mixtape Might Delete Later, released in April 2024.
Cam'ron’s complaint stated that his participation was contingent upon approval of the song before its release and a later collaboration with Cole on either a song or podcast. However, Cole’s team denied these conditions in February, claiming that Cam'ron took part voluntarily and without any conditions.
The settlement follows J. Cole appearing on Cam'ron’s Talk with Flee podcast in March, where Cam'ron mentioned that the lawsuit was intended to get Cole’s attention. This development signals a potential end to the public conflict between the two artists.
