AceShowbiz - Saweetie is currently facing a lawsuit demanding $3 million in punitive damages from a Japanese promoter accusing her of fraud and breach of contract.
The legal action was initiated by Moon Dream Production, which claims that Saweetie and her touring company, Icy Grl Touring, failed to perform at four concerts scheduled between July 18 and July 26, 2025, in Japan. The promoter alleges that despite receiving a $100,000 deposit, the rapper did not fulfill the agreed performances.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the promoter says Saweetie and her team exploited visa services arranged by Moon Dream Production to enter Japan but then performed at other venues booked by different promoters on the same dates. This move, they argue, caused significant financial harm.
The breakdown of alleged damages includes $100,000 lost on merchandise and promotional efforts, $200,000 in venue costs, and an expected $400,000 profit from the shows that never took place. Additionally, Saweetie and Icy Grl Touring are accused of refusing to return the $100,000 deposit despite the breach of contract.
Moon Dream Production’s lawsuit focuses heavily on the punitive damages, suggesting they believe the actions were deliberate rather than accidental. The $3 million figure reflects the severity of the claims regarding intent and financial loss.
Touring and live performances are a vital part of Saweetie's career, and this lawsuit directly challenges her reputation and professional conduct in the live music industry.
