AceShowbiz - A Japanese concert promoter has filed a $3 million lawsuit against Saweetie, alleging the rapper failed to perform at a series of agreed-upon concerts in Japan after receiving a substantial deposit.
According to TMZ, Moon Dream Production initiated legal action against Saweetie and Icy Girl Touring related to four concert dates set between July 18 and July 26, 2025. The deal reportedly guaranteed Saweetie a total payment of $200,000 for her performances.
The promoter claims they paid a $100,000 deposit upfront, but Saweetie allegedly never showed up for the scheduled concerts. Instead, the rapper is said to have used her visit to Japan to perform at alternative venues, including a nightclub event in Tokyo on July 25.
Moon Dream Production asserts that Saweetie and her team took advantage of visa services provided by the promoter to enter Japan, only to skip the contracted shows. Furthermore, the deposit was reportedly not refunded despite these cancellations.
The lawsuit outlines significant financial losses for the promoter, who claims to have spent an additional $100,000 on merchandise and marketing, plus $200,000 securing venues for the events. The promoter also expected a net profit of $400,000 from the concerts.
As a result, Moon Dream Production is seeking $3 million in punitive damages, accusing Saweetie of breach of contract and fraud related to the failed performances.
