AceShowbiz - Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the eagerly awaited second season of "Wednesday," offering a sneak peek at Jenna Ortega's return as the enigmatic Wednesday Addams.
The teaser kicks off with Wednesday shocking airport security by setting off a metal detector, revealing an array of weapons ranging from brass knuckles to a machete, as well as the beloved severed hand, Thing. Ironically, it's a small tube of sun cream packed by Thing that lands her in trouble with TSA.
In this season, Netflix teases viewers with a series of thrilling noir-like clips filled with mysteries and supernatural beasts. As Wednesday embarks on her solo travel mission, she soon finds herself back at Nevermore Academy. Here, she reunites with her vibrant roommate Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers.
The trailer also reintroduces iconic characters, including Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzman as Gomez, and Isaac Ordonez as brother Pugsley. A particularly memorable moment is Morticia's observation, "This is the first time you've ever willingly returned to a school," to which Wednesday responds, "Like returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where the bodies are buried."
The Addams return to Nevermore signals more than just reunions; it promises dark secrets and deadly consequences. Viewers are treated to scenes of Wednesday embroiled in new mysteries, including a dramatic car accident, an intense confrontation with Tyler Galpin's Hyde Monster, and an ominous carnival called "Grim World."
Notable new additions to the cast include Joanna Lumley as Hester Frump, Morticia's complex mother and Wednesday's closest ally, and Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dort. A hint at an unsettling resurrection is teased with a broken tombstone bearing the Addams surname and the epitaph, "Resting in death's sweet embrace."
Absent from this season is Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe. After multiple allegations of sexual assault surfaced post the first season, his character was removed from the storyline. To fill this void, a slew of fresh faces will join the cast, ensuring the storyline continues to captivate its audience.
Season two of “Wednesday” will be split into two parts, with the first four episodes premiering on August 6, 2025, followed by the remaining four on September 3, 2025. Returning and new fans alike can look forward to a rollercoaster of grim adventures, dark humor, and deep-rooted family secrets.
