AceShowbiz - Netflix's Wednesday is expanding its cast for Season 3 with an exciting lineup of guest stars, including Lena Headey, best known for her iconic role as Cersei Lannister on HBO's Game of Thrones. The streaming giant confirmed that Headey will appear as a guest star, adding a new layer of intrigue to the series.
Joining Headey in the upcoming season are Andrew McCarthy, recognized for his work on The Resident, and James Lance, who plays journalist Trent Crimm on Ted Lasso. While specific details about their characters remain under wraps, their involvement signals a fresh infusion of talent to the show’s narrative.
These new faces will join a robust cast of Season 3 additions, including Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), Eva Green (Penny Dreadful), Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride), Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms), and Kennedy Moyer (Task). Filming is currently underway near Dublin, Ireland.
Headey’s television credits extend beyond Game of Thrones, including roles in Beacon 23, White House Plumbers, and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Most recently, she co-starred with Gillian Anderson in the now-cancelled Netflix Western The Abandons.
In other casting developments, CBS’s crime drama Sheriff Country has promoted two actors to series regulars ahead of its second season. Amanda Arcuri, who portrays Skye, Mickey’s daughter, and Ian Quinlan, playing deputy Hank, will both have expanded roles according to Deadline.
Meanwhile, Kevin Bacon (The Following) is set to star in Hulu’s drama pilot Southern Bastards. According to Variety, Bacon will take on the role of Earl, whose Army veteran daughter arrives in Craw County, Alabama, uncovering a dangerous network of organized crime controlled by a dominant high school football coach.
Also announced by Variety, Mayor of Kingstown will add Nestor Carbonell (The Morning Show) for its upcoming fifth and final season. He will recur as Enrique Molina, a figure seeking vengeance for a missing relative in Kingstown.
Netflix’s adaptation of The God of the Woods, based on the bestselling novel by Liz Moore, has cast Oscar nominee Kerry Condon (Better Call Saul). She stars alongside Maya Hawke in this multi-generational drama set in the Adirondacks, portraying Alice, a mother confronting unimaginable tragedy when her 13-year-old daughter disappears.
Lastly, pop icon Pink will host the 79th Annual Tony Awards, which will air live on CBS on Sunday, June 7, at 8 p.m.
