AceShowbiz - Jeremy Renner, the "Hawkeye" star known for his roles in Marvel's "The Avengers", is bidding farewell to his Los Angeles home where he recuperated from a near-fatal snowplow accident. The 9,000-square-foot mid-century modern property, located in the Nichols Canyon neighborhood, is currently listed for $12.9 million.

Renner's accident occurred on January 1, 2023, at his Nevada residence near Reno. While operating a PistenBully snowcat to assist a family member whose vehicle was stuck in heavy snowfall, the snowcat began to roll. Attempting to re-enter the driver's seat to stop it, Renner was run over, suffering severe injuries including blunt chest trauma and orthopedic damage.

He was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, subsequently undergoing emergency surgery and several months of recovery at his L.A. home.

Though Renner initially envisioned the L.A. home as his "forever home," spending nearly $5.5 million on renovations, he has come to terms with the need to downsize and prioritize his ongoing recovery. "I need to kind of move on to other things," Renner revealed. His main residence has always been in Nevada, but the L.A. property allowed him to be close to his 11-year-old daughter, Ava.

Renner's L.A. home is a testament to his passion for unique architecture and a close-knit community. The single-story abode features six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a home theater, a detached guest house and recording studio, and solar panels that supply around 90% of its energy needs.

The primary suite offers dual closets, a spa-like bathroom, and glass walls leading to a deck with stunning canyon views. The outdoor area boasts a resort-style pool, multiple lounge areas, and an indoor/outdoor bar, making it an ideal spot for entertaining guests.

The actor's decision to sell the home is driven by his desire to simplify his life and focus on new projects, like working on a book about his harrowing experience and recovery. "It was brutal, dude," Renner recalled, but he emphasized the "wonderful lessons" he learned from the ordeal.

"I mean, I can go on and on about what happened for the 45 minutes of being on the ice, but the real learning lessons from it -- there are so many great gifts of being tested to your limits, right? Your physical limits, your spiritual limits, emotional limits. I won't have a bad day for the rest of my life. It's impossible," he shared with Jimmy Fallon.

As Renner moves on from his L.A. home, he remains focused on his recovery and future endeavors, embodying resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
