The Jonas Brothers member joins forces with Paul Rudd and Jack Reynor to star in a new musical comedy film that is set to begin filming this week in Dublin, Ireland.

AceShowbiz - Nick Jonas was spotted on set in Dublin this week for the first time in the upcoming musical comedy "Power Ballad". The 31-year-old singer, who recently shaved his hair off for the role, plays a rock star in the film. He was mobbed by fans during a street scene while wearing an Aran knit jumper and a Barbour jacket.

"Power Ballad" is described as a musical comedy about a wedding singer and a rock star who are torn apart by a song. It is the fourth collaboration between director John Carney ("Sing Street") and Jack Reynor, who also stars alongside Nick Jonas.

The film is being produced by Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron, who worked on Carney's previous film "Flora and Son". 30West is financing the project, while WME Independent and UTA Independent Film Group are handling sales.

Carney expressed his excitement about working with Paul Rudd and Jonas, saying, "I've been working on this script with my buddy Peter for years, and now Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas are in my kitchen."

Reynor, known for "Midsommar" and "Transformers: Age of Extinction", has previously worked with Carney on "Sing Street" and "Flora and Son". Rudd, on the other hand, is a renowned actor whose credits include "Clueless", "Ant-Man" and "Wanderlust".

Filming for "Power Ballad" is currently underway in Dublin, and the project is expected to be shopped at the Cannes Film Market later this month.
