The 'Harry Potter' star shares updates on his son when attending the 77th Tony Awards with his girlfriend Erin Darke, celebrates Father's Day and wins his first Tony Award for 'Merrily We Roll Along'.

AceShowbiz - Daniel Radcliffe, the "Harry Potter" star, had a memorable Father's Day and a triumphant night at the 2024 Tony Awards. At the ceremony, he gave PEOPLE an update on his toddler son, who he shares with his girlfriend Erin Darke.

"He's great," said Radcliffe on the red carpet of the Sunday, June 16 event. "He's talking and saying, you know, nonsense, but very, very charming nonsense."

Radcliffe and Darke welcomed their son in April 2023. While Radcliffe was celebrating his nomination and his second Father's Day at the Tony Awards, he explained that his Broadway schedule prevented him from spending much time with his son on the holiday.

"I'm going to be doing most of my celebrating of Father's Day tomorrow," Radcliffe explained. "I saw him in the morning and then went to [Tonys] rehearsal and then went back and saw him again. And then I had a matinee today, so I haven't done a ton of hanging out with my son on Father's Day, but I will be doing that tomorrow, and I'm very excited about it."

Radcliffe's love for his family was evident as he accepted his first Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for his performance in "Merrily We Roll Along". In his speech, he thanked his longtime girlfriend Erin Darke and their son, saying, "My mum and dad are here somewhere - happy Father's Day, dad, I love you both so much. Thank you for playing Sondheim in the car and just, you know, loving me. And my love Erin - you and our son are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you so much, thank you so much."

Radcliffe's road to "Merrily We Roll Along" began in 2013 when he saw a production of the Stephen Sondheim show. After being cast as Charley Kringas, he embraced the opportunity to perform one of the show's most iconic songs, "Franklin Shepard, Inc.".

Radcliffe also praised his castmates, Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez, saying, "I will never have it this good again."

Radcliffe expressed his joy and fulfillment in being a father, saying, "It's awesome.... I've kind of really enjoyed the first six months."
