Brad Pitt's world was turned upside down when his daughter Shiloh decided to legally ditch his last name, adding a fresh wave of drama amid the prolonged legal battle between him and ex-wife Angelina Jolie.

AceShowbiz - Brad Pitt was "blindsided" by his daughter Shiloh's decision to legally change her name from Shiloh Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie on her 18th birthday. This revelation has brought to light underlying tensions between Pitt and his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.

According to sources, Pitt feels that Jolie has played a significant role in influencing their children to distance themselves from him.

An insider close to the "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" star revealed to In Touch, "Brad was blindsided by Shiloh dropping his last name, but he wasn't surprised... He feels that Angie has slowly but surely turned their kids against him. She absolutely influenced their decisions to distance themselves from their dad."

The news hit Pitt hard, particularly because Shiloh, whom he believed he was closest to, did not inform him in advance.

This isn't the first instance of the Jolie-Pitt children making statements against their father. Last year, Zahara, another of Pitt and Jolie's children, introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" during a sorority initiation ceremony.

Additionally, Vivienne, Pitt and Jolie's youngest daughter, opted to go by "Vivienne Jolie" on the Playbill for the Broadway musical "The Outsiders", which she helped produce alongside her mother.

Back in 2020 to mark Father's Day, Angelina's son, Pax, wrote a letter, calling Brad Pitt a "world class a**hole" who makes his four youngest children "tremble in fear." Not mincing his words, Pax penned, "You have made the lives of those closest to me a constant hell."

"You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want," he added, "but the truth will come to light someday." Then he sarcastically added, "So Happy Father's Day, you f*****g awful human being."

Pitt and Jolie divorced in September 2016 after a two-year marriage following a mid-flight altercation. They share six children: Maddox, 22, Zahara, 19, Pax, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15. The divorce and subsequent custody battles have reportedly strained Pitt's relationship with his children.

In the 2022 documents filed by Angelina in a cross complaint as part of a legal battle over Chateau Miraval, she revealed shocking details about their fight. Brad Pitt reportedly "grabbed" the actress "by the head" and lunged at one of his children when they tried to defend their mother, prompting her to grab him from behind to stop him from hurting the child.

"The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face. Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. At one point, he poured beer on Jolie; at another, he poured beer and red wine on the children," the document read.

Brad Pitt has refuted the allegations and since claimed he's been sober. Amidst the couple's legal spat, some of their children wanted to testify against him in court but the judge would not let them.

One insider expressed Pitt's sentiments, "He's absolutely heartbroken, he's really hurt because he was closest to Shiloh. He was unaware that their relationship had changed." They added, "Brad one hundred percent blames Angie for Shiloh and Vivienne's decisions. His only hope is Knox, but he's not holding his breath."

The ongoing family drama underscores the complexities of celebrity relationships and the impact of parental conflicts on children. As the Jolie-Pitt saga continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how these family dynamics will evolve.
