The Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures announce the release date and collaboration details for the upcoming Formula 1 racing movie starring the actor.

AceShowbiz - Apple Original Films and Warner Bros. Pictures have teamed up to release the highly anticipated Formula 1 racing movie starring Brad Pitt, which is now set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025.

The untitled film will feature Pitt as a former driver returning to the sport, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate. It has been filmed at actual Grand Prix weekends, capturing the thrills and intensity of the world's most prestigious racing series.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski ("Top Gun: Maverick"), the movie boasts a star-studded cast including Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. Kosinski also serves as producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B Entertainment, and Lewis Hamilton of Dawn Apollo Films are also producers.

The film is written by Academy Award nominee Ehren Kruger ("Top Gun: Maverick") and made in collaboration with Formula 1 itself. It will be distributed domestically and overseas by Warner Bros. Pictures, joining a growing list of Apple Original Films receiving theatrical releases before streaming.

Apple has been expanding its theatrical presence, partnering with studios such as Sony ("Napoleon"), Paramount ("Killers of the Flower Moon"), and Universal ("Argylle"). The Formula 1 movie is expected to capitalize on its high-octane action sequences by screening in IMAX theaters, a format increasingly popular for immersive cinematic experiences.

The June 2025 release date will place the movie against the opening of "M3GAN 2.0", a sequel to the Blumhouse horror hit. However, the following weekend will pose a more formidable challenge with the debut of "Jurassic World 4", featuring a star-studded cast and the return of the beloved dinosaur franchise.
