It has been reported that the 'Desperate Housewives' alum has been tapped to join the sophomore season of 'Criminal Minds: Evolution' in a guest star role.

AceShowbiz - Felicity Huffman is set to make her return to the small screen. It has been reported that the actress has been tapped to join the second season of "Criminal Minds: Evolution" in a guest star role.
According to Variety, Felicity will portray a new character named Dr. Jill Gideon in the sophomore season of the Paramount+ series. The character is described as the ex-wife of Jason Gideon, who was played by Mandy Patinkin.
The official description of Jill Gideon further reveals that she is "a brilliant biological psychiatrist who agrees to help the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit investigate a murderous conspiracy theory. Jill is reluctant to return to the bureau's elite team given her complicated history with David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and her dead ex-husband, Jason Gideon (previously played by Mandy Patinkin), but soon realizes her specific skill set could help them uncover another clue to the elusive Gold Star mystery."
In addition Mantegna, season 2 of "Criminal Minds: Evolution" will star A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Zach Gilford, Ryan-James Hatanaka, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. The new season is currently in production.
Huffman's new acting gig marks her first after she completed her full sentence in the college admissions scandal in October 2020. Back in May 2019, the "Desperate Housewives" alum pleaded guilty to paying admissions consultant Rick Singer $15,000 to have a proctor change her daughter Sophia's answers following the SAT examination.
She served 11 days of her 14-day prison sentence in October 2019 and was ordered to pay a $30,000 fine. Additionally, she was sentenced to 250 hours of community service and was on supervised release for one year.
The Emmy winner admitted that she was ashamed by the scandal. "So when [college fixer Singer] slowly started to present the criminal scheme, it seems like - and I know this seems crazy at the time - but that was my only option to give my daughter a future," she previously told NBC News. "I know hindsight is 20/20 but it felt like I would be a bad mother if I didn't do it. So, I did it."
