Having shared Riley's tricky 'breech' birth, the 'All About That Bass' hitmaker admits in new interview that she's still upset her first child missed his all-important early bonding time with her.

AceShowbiz - Pop star Meghan Trainor still can't get enough time with her baby son because she didn't meet the tot for two days after birth complications.

The "All About That Bass" hitmaker previously shared details of Riley's tricky "breech" birth in February 2021, and she's still upset he missed his all-important early bonding time with mum.

"He was breech so he was sideways and we had to have a C-section," she tells fellow pop singer Kelly Clarkson on her U.S. daytime chat show. "I was just like, 'Oh, I wasn't ready for this.' And he came out with some breathing problems, so I met him over FaceTime."

Meghan, who shares Riley with husband Daryl Sabara, knows the importance of instant skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby, but the pair totally missed out on the experience for Riley's first 48 hours.

"I didn't get it for the first, like, two days," she explains of not seeing her baby boy in the flesh. "It was really hard. I only got to see him over FaceTime."

Meghan adds that Riley is "so healthy and happy now," but because she missed out on the special time with her firstborn, she jokes she may never stop holding onto him.

"Now I don't let go. He'll finally get to an age where he'll go, 'Get off of me' and I'll go, 'No!' " she quips.

Meghan had opened up about the "horror story" of Riley's birth in a previous interview. When speaking to "Today", the 27-year-old singer recalled, "It was one of those horror stories where he didn't cry. He didn't make noise when he came out. I was like, 'Why isn't he crying?' "

The "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" hitmaker went on to share, "I got to see him for one second before they took him away. That was probably the worst part." On a positive note, she added, "But we're so lucky we got to bring him home after five days."
