'Wait, wait, wait......you can't fire me on my day off!' the actor writes on his Twitter account following the report of his exit.

AceShowbiz - Should "Lethal Weapon" be renewed for a third season on FOX, fans will not be seeing star Clayne Crawford around. The procedural drama has axed the Martin Riggs depicter following his on-set bad behavior scandal.

According to The Hollywood Reported, producers are planning to recast the character as several actors have been offered the role. FOX allegedly will announce its final decision next Monday during its Upfront presentation, though the network and Warner Bros. Television decline to comment.

The news arrives after Clayne sparked backlash for his alleged bad behavior on the set of Damon Wayans' drama. The first incident came after he lost his temper over alleged unsafe working conditions, while he also became angry when a cast member was injured in a blast effect while he was directing an episode. After the first reprimand, Clayne met with TV bosses who insisted he attend therapy sessions, while sharing a "sizable portion" of his pay cheque with one of the people he lashed out at.

The star later issued an apology, admitting he was "reprimanded twice" during the second season of the series. He continued, "I am incredibly sorry if my passion for doing good work has ever made anyone feel less than comfortable on our set, or feel less than celebrated for their efforts. Furthermore, I apologize to all the crew and cast for any negative attention 'Lethal Weapon' is receiving because of these incidents."

Clayne took to his social media accounts to address his exit report. "Wait, wait, wait......you can't fire me on my day off!" he wrote on Twitter. The actor also shared on Instagram a photo of himself shrugging his shoulders. "When everyone seems to know your future but you. No word from Fox or Warner Bros. I hope I'm not fired!! Dang," so he captioned the snap.
