AceShowbiz - "Lethal Weapon" season 3 will have Seann William Scoot replacing original co-lead Clayne Crawford, who was fired following on-set behavior issues. Not much is known about Seann's character, until Deadline reveals some details of his character.
In the new season of FOX's cop series, Seann is set to portray Wesley Cole, a war veteran and a father. It's unknown, however, whether or not Cole has the same strait with Clayne's Martin Riggs, but some fans assume that he is more likely a straight laced solider-turned-cop who's just looking to make life easy on his new partner until the day he finally retires.
In addition to the details, the site reports that the shortened season 3 of "Lethal Weapon" will welcome another cast member. Former "Psych" actress Maggie Lawson has been cast as Natalie Flynn, Cole's ex and mother of his child.
Flynn is an emergency room surgeon. The two met in an active war zone years earlier, where Natalie served as a medic, and had a brief romance that resulted in a child. Over a decade later, Cole once again is a regular in Natalie's ER--he's moved to Los Angeles to get closer to both her and their kid. Maggie will be recurring in the upcoming season.
Seann was cast for season 3 following the onset behavior scandal involving Clayne and Daman Wayans. Clayne issued an apology, saying, "I am incredibly sorry if my passion for doing good work has ever made anyone feel less than comfortable on our set, or feel less than celebrated for their efforts. Furthermore, I apologize to all the crew and cast for any negative attention 'Lethal Weapon' is receiving because of these incidents."
However, Warner Bros. decided to distance itself from the actor and not to renew his contract. Clayne's character was last seen collapsing to the ground after getting shot by his half-brother. His fate remains unclear so far.
