CSI: NY Episode 9.13 Nine Thirteen

The team is called to the scene of a young man who fell to his death from the allegedly cursed Building Nine Thirteen. The CSI's find various valuables in the hidden pocket of his suit and determine he was a pickpocket who posed as an employee of the building to prey on tourists. They uncover a newspaper clipping wedged in the victim's mouth and restore it to ascertain the date of the paper. Analyzing the chemical traces from the neck wound leads them to believe he was killed by a man-made shank created in a prison cell. They check for criminals mentioned in the newspaper clipping and narrow the results down to female suspects given the sequin found on the victim's body. Danny recognizes one of the mugshots as the girl seen in surveillance footage of the building from the night of the murder. After tracking her down, they get her to confess that the man she killed was her boyfriend who let her take the fall for a bag of valuables he had pickpocketed. She plotted to get revenge while she was incarcerated and killed him with the prepared shank before he stumbled off of the building. Jo meets the man who received the transplant of her sister's heart while Lindsay discovers she is pregnant.
