Two men are found brutally murdered on the eve of St. Patrick's Day and one of the victims, Michael Paley, is a known investigative journalist that exposes the underbelly of city crimes by going undercover. The second victim is unknown but Cam, Michael's partner, has gone missing and the team knows they need to find out if he is in danger or possibly the killer. Piecing together the forensic evidence, the team is lead to a local company that manufactures gold bars for the Department of Treasury. The second victim is identified as Charlie Cooper, an employee who was secretly working with the two journalists to expose the company for manufacturing fake or "salted" gold bars. The owner of the company discovered Charlie's plan and sent a local Irish pub owner, who had a personal vendetta against Charlie, to murder all three men. Things did not go as planned and Cam got away. By way of evidence at the scene, they track Cam and find him hiding out in an Irish Memorial in Battery Park. Det. Flack and Danny chase down the two suspects in the middle of the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade and Cam, being an eyewitness to the murders, helps bring the killers to justice and expose the black market industry of salted gold.
Mac has a chance encounter with a beautiful blonde at his favorite deli. Even though they don't even know each others names, they leave notes for one another at the deli until they finally get to meet again in person. This time, the sparks of interest are obvious to both and Mac finally learns her name, Audrey Hunter.
