Beef and Running Point return for Season 2, but underwhelming viewership and a steep drop from debut highs raise questions.
- April 29, 2026
AceShowbiz - Two popular Netflix series, Beef and Running Point, have both released their second seasons recently, but their audience response has been somewhat underwhelming.
Beef premiered its second season on April 16, drawing 4.1 million views in its first full week on Netflix. This performance placed it at No. 3 on the global English TV Top 10 for the week of April 20 to 26. While this represents a 70% increase from its debut weekend, indicating some growing momentum, the overall viewership numbers remain relatively modest compared to expectations.
In fact, the initial four days of Season 2’s launch attracted just over 2 million views, which is a significant drop of nearly 60% from the first season’s premiere weekend. This decline pushed Beef down to No. 7 on the weekly rankings, suggesting that the show’s second season has yet to capture the same level of excitement as its debut.
Similarly, the recently returned Running Point also experienced a lukewarm reception, although exact viewership figures have not been detailed. Both shows’ second seasons arrived within the past two weeks, but neither has made a strong impact in terms of streaming numbers so far.
The mixed results for these series highlight the challenges even popular Netflix originals face in maintaining and building their audiences after initial success. While Beef shows some signs of gaining traction, its significant drop-off in early views raises questions about its staying power moving forward.
