AceShowbiz - Mayor of Kingstown is welcoming a new series regular for its fifth and final season with the addition of Emmy- and Tony-nominated actor David Morse. The Paramount+ drama, created by Taylor Sheridan, is currently beginning production on its concluding eight-episode chapter.
David Morse will portray Russell Hardy, a veteran FBI agent dispatched to the troubled town of Kingstown. His arrival follows the murder of Tracy (Nishi Munshi) and the subsequent revenge actions taken by Mike (Jeremy Renner) and Kyle (Taylor Handley) Callahan. Agent Hardy’s mission is to track down Mike Callahan, who is considered a “fugitive.” As a dedicated lawman, Hardy’s presence threatens to expose Mike’s hidden misdeeds, potentially destabilizing the fragile power dynamics that govern Kingstown.
Alongside Morse, the lead cast includes returning stars Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco, as well as Taylor Handley. Additional main cast members are Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Tobi Bamtefa, and Derek Webster, with Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James reprising their roles.
The production is a collaboration between Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions. Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the series is executive produced by a team including Sheridan, Dillon, Renner, Antoine Fuqua, and others. Dave Erickson serves as the showrunner, guiding the final season’s creative direction.
David Morse is currently featured in Prime Video’s We Were Liars and the Apple TV series The Last Thing He Told Me. His recent film work includes Looking Through Water, with upcoming projects such as Mayday and Saturn Return. Morse is recognized for his Emmy-nominated performances on House and John Adams, and he has appeared in acclaimed series like The Chair, The Good Lord Bird, The Morning Show, and The Deuce. On stage, he earned Tony nominations for Broadway productions including How I Learned to Drive and the 2018 revival of The Iceman Cometh. He is represented by Gersh and Kipperman Management.
