AceShowbiz - In their first reality TV appearance since their release from prison, after receiving a full pardon from President Trump,
The moment of unmasking was anticipated by fans after their vibrant performance of “Jailhouse Rock” during the season 14 premiere, where the couple sported delightful pastry-inspired costumes with black and white stripes.
Julie shared her thoughts with The Hollywood Reporter, reflecting on their experience, saying, “I think from the very beginning, we embraced it. I get the nod and the stripes and all that, but the costumes themselves were just so beautiful.”
The Chrisleys’ return to the public eye comes shortly after their release from prison, which made headlines nationwide. This news coincided with Lifetime's announcement of a new reality series featuring the family. Todd and Julie were previously convicted of federal bank fraud and tax evasion, resulting in sentences of 12 years for Todd and 7 years for Julie, both receiving additional probation time.
After their release in May, the couple is back in the spotlight and eager to share their journey. They recently spoke with THR about the guidance they received from Trump post-prison, their reasons for joining The Masked Singer, and their future plans in reality television.
TODD: “We had received so many offers to do things, and we just were not ready. We were focusing on our family and on each other and making sure that we were very protective of the peace that we were creating. And when this offer came in, our publicist called Julie first. Julie called me, and she said, ‘Oh my God, there’s an offer for Masked Singer.’” He continued, “I said, ‘OK.’ And she asked, ‘What do you think?’ I replied, ‘If you want to do it, we’ll do it. If you don’t want to do it, we don’t do it.’”
Julie’s indecision is evident, as she admits to being uncertain about taking part in the show. However, the couple ultimately decided that the opportunity was too good to pass up, especially considering their new chapter post-incarceration.
With their debut as the Croissants, Todd and Julie Chrisley are not just aiming to entertain, but also to reconnect with their audience and foster a sense of normalcy in their lives. As they embrace this fresh start, they are excited about the future and what lies ahead for their family.
The couple has hinted at more reality TV projects in the pipeline, ensuring that fans can continue to follow their journey as they navigate this new phase of life together.
