AceShowbiz - Disney released the official script of "Deadpool & Wolverine" on its For Your Consideration (FYC) portal, revealing the original joke that was axed at the studio's request. During a scene where Deadpool learns of Magneto's death, he breaks the fourth wall and delivers a biting line.
"F--K! What we can't even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap," he said, "I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse c**k in my throat." Disney CEO Bob Iger personally asked Ryan Reynolds, who co-wrote and starred in the movie, to remove the joke, citing it would "make our life hard over here."
Director Shawn Levy praised Disney for tolerating other controversial jokes in the film, which poked fun at Marvel, the actors' personal lives, and taboo topics. However, Reynolds and Levy have vowed to keep the original "Mickey Mouse c**k" joke secret.
Despite the cut, Levy revealed that it was replaced with another equally raunchy line involving Pinocchio and Deadpool's anatomy. Reynolds' boldness in pushing the boundaries of humor was evident in this alternative dialogue.
While the uncensored joke did not make it into the final film, "Deadpool & Wolverine" still contained numerous "gay jokes" that sparked debate. Some fans criticized the relentless use of sexual humor between Deadpool and Wolverine, accusing Marvel of "queerbaiting." Critics slammed the movie for treating same-sex attraction as a mere gag, reinforcing harmful stereotypes.
Despite the controversy, the film proved to be a box office success, grossing $1.3 billion worldwide. It is currently available to stream on Disney+.
