AceShowbiz - Kaley Cuoco, 38, recently shared insights into her life with fiancé Tom Pelphrey and their 19-month-old daughter, Matilda, while on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon". "The Big Bang Theory" alum was candid about the challenges of parenting and the couple's commitment to relationship counseling.
"It's a wild ride, Jimmy," Cuoco told Jimmy Fallon, elaborating on the demanding yet fulfilling journey of raising a toddler. "I mean, it's an adventure. 19 months old. It's a lot." Cuoco humorously compared the task to handling a "drunk best friend," noting situations where she has to manage tantrums, bathroom breaks, and cleaning up after Matilda.
"They're crying when they don't get what they want," Cuoco explained. "You're making sure they make it to the bathroom, or you're cleaning their throw-up from whatever. And they're out of their minds, and you're making sure they don't die all day long."
Addressing the audience during the show, Cuoco strongly advocated for couples therapy, "You should all be in couples therapy, just FYI." She shared that therapy has been instrumental in navigating the stress and exhaustion that comes with parenting.
Cuoco and Pelphrey celebrated the birth of their daughter, Matilda, in 2023, a key milestone in their relationship that became public in 2022. Earlier this year, the couple took another significant step, as Cuoco revealed their engagement via Instagram.
Despite the excitement of their upcoming wedding, the couple has yet to begin planning. "We haven't started planning anything yet," Cuoco admitted, even hinting, "Maybe another kid will have to come first. We're gonna go way out of order. That's our plan."
Cuoco has also addressed public scrutiny over her parenting style, dismissing online mom-shaming and emphasizing that every parent does their best. "Everyone's got something to say about everything. There's no change before I had kids, to having kids, to where I am in my life," she told E! News.
Cuoco's openness about couples therapy and parenthood challenges serves as a valuable insight for many, highlighting the importance of mutual support and professional help in maintaining a healthy relationship, especially while navigating the early stages of parenthood.
