AceShowbiz - Kendra Wilkinson recently revealed the challenges she faced while filming her reality show "Kendra Sells Hollywood," reflecting on her mental health struggles.
The 39-year-old reality star, known for her time on "The Girls Next Door," admitted that she wasn't mentally prepared when she returned to the spotlight for her reality show. Wilkinson confessed, "I feel a little regret filming my last show because I wasn't really ready. I was a little bit off mentally and I wasn't prepared to be on a camera just yet. I wasn't fully healed or there yet. Now I feel there."
Wilkinson opened up about her mental health crisis that culminated in an emergency room visit following a panic attack in September 2023. Reflecting on the difficult period, she told People in January, "I was dying of depression. I was hitting the end of my life, and I went into psychosis. I felt like I wasn't strong enough to live anymore."
Despite these challenges, Wilkinson's journey was not without hope. She initially saw her real estate career as a fresh start, passing her real estate exam in 2020 and starring in "Kendra Sells Hollywood," which aired for two seasons starting in November 2021. However, the show was not picked up for a third season.
In May 2024, she announced in an Instagram post that she was quitting real estate to focus on herself and her children. She wrote, "Real estate is hard and I might get back into it again down the line. For now, it's a little stressful in my life so I'm focusing on myself and kids and getting my mental health good again so I have the strength to get back in it with a good head."
Interestingly, Wilkinson later clarified that her Instagram post was a reaction to a particularly bad day and not a definitive career decision. She confessed in September, "So I did announce that I'd be stepping away from real estate, but that was just a really bad day in my life and I should've never probably Instagrammed that I'm quitting, but I did on accident like an idiot so I made a huge mistake. But I'm back in it."
Moving forward, Wilkinson has hinted at exciting new ventures. She expressed her enthusiasm for returning to television and teased that her upcoming projects may focus on her dating life, a side of her that fans have never seen before.
"I'm actually working on a show right now, I'm creating one. And it might be something that nobody has seen me do before. People have seen my crotch, they've seen my boobs, they've seen my births of my kids, but nobody has ever seen me date. So I might be open to that concept."
Despite her personal struggles, Wilkinson's candidness about her mental health and determination to push forward is inspiring. Her journey underscores the importance of mental well-being and the courage to start anew, no matter how tough the past may have been.
