AceShowbiz - In a recently released clip from "The Apprentice", Donald Trump, played by Sebastian Stan, and Roy Cohn, portrayed by Jeremy Strong, are interviewed by a reporter while riding in a taxi. Trump enthusiastically outlines his plans to acquire the Commodore Hotel and transform it into the "finest building in the world." Cohn coaches Trump along the way, urging him to talk up his vision and ambitions.
However, when asked about his drive, Trump's unscripted response and Cohn's subsequent intervention reveal the ongoing tutelage process between the two. Cohn advises Trump to "slow down" and "stay humble," while also acknowledging that he has "a ways to go."
The film has garnered attention for its portrayal of Trump's early years and his relationship with Cohn, who died in 1986. It explores the influence Cohn had in shaping Trump's business acumen and ambition. The clip highlights Cohn's role as a mentor and adviser to the young Trump, who was eager to make a name for himself as a scion of a wealthy family in 1970s New York.
The Apprentice premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and will hit theaters on October 11. Despite some initial challenges in finding a distributor, the film has since been acquired by Briarcliff Entertainment.
