Former president Donald Trump is railing against 'The Apprentice', a film directed by Ali Abbasi and depicting his rise to power, calling it a politically motivated hatchet job.

AceShowbiz - Former President Donald Trump has denounced the biopic "The Apprentice" as "fake" and "classless," while the film's director Ali Abbasi has offered to have an extended chat with Trump.
Trump took to Truth Social to express his distaste for the film, calling it "a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job." He also disputed the portrayal of his relationship with his first wife Ivana Trump.
Abbasi, the Iranian-Danish director of the film, responded on X (formerly Twitter) and invited Trump to a discussion. The filmmaker noted that he felt the movie was "fair" and that "there are a lot of things to like."
In response to Trump's criticism, screenwriters Gabe Sherman and Tom Ortenberg defended the film, highlighting its accuracy and the importance of preserving freedom of speech.
Despite Trump's threats to sue the filmmakers, "The Apprentice" was released in theaters this past weekend and has earned $1.58 million at the domestic box office.
Abbasi has previously expressed his belief that Trump would "eventually comment on the movie" and said he would be "fascinated" to hear the former president's reaction. However, Marvel alum Sebastian Stan, who portrays Trump in the film, has expressed uncertainty about whether Trump will watch it.
In related news, Abbasi has offered to speak with Trump if he has time in his busy press schedule. Trump has not yet responded to the invitation.
