AceShowbiz - Meghan Trainor has gotten candid about her childbirth experience in a new book. In "Dear Future Mama", the "Made You Look" hitmaker recalled how her son's birth left her with PTSD.

The singer, who welcomed son Riley with husband Daryl Sabara via C-section in 2021, revealed that her baby was rushed to NICU due to respiratory issues while she was still on the surgical table. In the excerpt from her book published by PEOPLE, she wrote, "I was alone, without Daryl or Riley, and I wasn't sure if my baby could even breathe."

"I couldn't go to sleep at night. I would be in tears and tell Daryl, 'I'm still on that table, dude. I'm trapped there. I can't remind myself I'm in bed and I'm safe at home,' " she recounted to People in an April 21 article. "I had to learn how traumatic it was."

"Would he be okay? Would Daryl be okay, up there on his own with this crisis? The drugs and the stress made it seem like everything was happening in slow motion," she added. "I didn't feel pain, but I could feel the sensation of every tool inside me. I felt and heard a suction tool up by my ribs. I could still smell my own burning flesh."

Meanwhile, when speaking to PEOPLE, Meghan recounted, "Usually when you're being sewn up for 45 minutes, you're like, 'Look at my gorgeous baby. We did it. This is everything.' " She further elaborated, "But I was laying there alone."

The musician said she realized the impact from the experience once she was discharged from the hospital. "I couldn't go to sleep at night. I would be in tears and tell Daryl, 'I'm still on that table, dude. I'm trapped there. I can't remind myself I'm in bed and I'm safe at home,' " she said. "I had to learn how traumatic it was."

Fortunately, Meghan managed to process and learn from the experience after going to therapy. "I just worked through it," the songstress, who is expecting her second child with husband Daryl, shared. "Time heals all."
