AceShowbiz - Saweetie has opened up about how she spent her first rap check. Claiming that she got $10,000 after performing in Turkey, the "Best Friend" hitmaker used the money for getting a boob job.
The 29-year-old made the revelation when speaking to HipHopDX. "My first show was in Turkey - Istanbul," she stated. "They paid me 10 bands to perform 'ICY GRL'. Just one song. 10 bands."
When asked what she spent the money on, Saweetie, whose real name is Diamonte Quiava Valentin Harper, replied, "Some boobs!"
Saweetie has been enjoying her success nowadays. She even got nominated for this year's Grammy Awards. In November 2022, the female rapper disclosed that she barely had time to "eat, rest or see family members" due to her "crazy" schedule.
"Not all artists show behind the scenes, we literally put in so much time. Our schedules get so crazy because we're working all night, working all morning," the raptress, who has been rumored to be dating YG, shared. "Barely have time to eat, rest or see family members. Shoutout to all of the artists that got nominated because getting recognition for hard work is honestly a priceless payment."
Saweetie also claimed that rapping is a dangerous profession, following the deaths of PnB Rock and Drakeo the Ruler. She told Complex, "I think a lot of people aren't sensitive to rappers, male or women."
"Not only are we being vulnerable with our stories, it does get dangerous because of some of the environments we are in. I just hope the vibration in the hip-hop community raises, because it's sad seeing young men pass away at such an early age. They did not deserve that."
