The 'Glee' actress reads a children's book titled 'Rosie Revere, Engineer' after it's rumored she can't read or write as most of her social media posts are captioned with only emojis.

AceShowbiz - Lea Michele is debunking rumors that she cannot read or write. The Rachel Berry depicter on "Glee" has proven that she is not illiterate after an odd conspiracy theory went viral.

On Monday, August 8, SAG-AFTRA Foundation's Storyline Online series uploaded a video of the 35-year-old actress reading a children's book titled "Rosie Revere, Engineer", which was written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts, for about 7 minutes.

"Enjoy our newest story ROSIE REVERE, ENGINEER, a tale of a girl whose big dreams of inventing great gizmos and gadgets also learns how to celebrate her failures," the post captioned, "Read by Broadway sensation @leamichele. Head to our link in bio to watch the full read-aloud."

Lea has been plagued by the wild rumor since 2018, when Jaye Hunt and Robert Ackerman made a 40-minute video for their podcast "One More Thing", claiming she never learned to read or write. They posited a number of theories, including that she didn't have time because she was a child star in "Les Miserables" on Broadway.

They pointed out how many of her Instagram posts are captioned with only emojis and claimed that her assistant must be writing the ones that use sentences. The pair also theorized that Michele only stars in Ryan Murphy productions, alleging that the producer feeds her lines because he knows her "secret."

Then on June 2, a TikTok account @kelseylikesthings brought up the wild conspiracy. In the video that has since garnered over 11 million views and nearly 2 million likes, Kelsey summarized why the conspiracy theory exists.

Lea later shared her response during a Broadway and Vine event in Napa Valley in mid-June at Carneros Resort's Hilltop Vineyard. At the time, she told the crowd, which included 25 students from local Vintage High School, "You don't have to go to college to be in theater."

"I didn't go to college you guys, and look at me," Lea further said. She went on adding, "There is a rumor online that I cannot read or write, which may have something to do with the fact I didn't go to college."
