The femcee, whose real name is Diamonte Quiava Valentin Harper, reveals that she is not rushing the release of her new project because it's not just an album, 'it's a movement.'

AceShowbiz - Saweetie has a particular reason why she has to postpone the release of her new album, "Pretty B***h Music". The "Best Friend" raptress offered her explanation through her Instagram Story.

"There past couple of years have been a growing experience for me as an artist, human, but most importantly a WOMAN [red rose emoji]," the 28-year-old, real name Diamonte Quiava Valentin Harper, wrote in the Wednesday, June 29 post. "I have realized my purpose with the platform God [has] given me which is why I have taken my time with releasing music this time around [praying hands emoji]."

Through hours of [stars emoji] self-reflection [stars emoji] I have realized that Pretty B*TCH music is not an album- it's a movement... It's a culture. It's a language. It's a lifestyle. We not rushing art, we taking our time!" the ex-girlfriend of Quavo added. "This ain't no microwave s**t It's baking & it will definitely be worth the taste [red heart emoji]."

"Pretty B***h Music" was supposed to hit streaming services on June 25, 2021. It was supported by the singles "Tap In", "Back to the Streets" ft. Jhene Aiko, "Best Friend" ft. Doja Cat, "Fast (Motion)", and "Closer" featuring H.E.R., the latter of which was given a music video treatment in February this year.

"Closer" visuals, directed by Hannah Lux Davi, arrived just three days after Saweetie dropped the song. One day after its release, however, she was forced to hit back at a troll who made fun of the track. Taking to TikTok, the Grammy nominee shared a video of her responding to a comment that read, "It's giving forever 21 vibes."

In the clip with a Forever 21 background, Saweetie pretended to be shopping while jamming to her new track. She wrote on the top of the footage, "POV your song is playing at Forever 21 [fire emoji]."
