The 'On the Floor' hitmaker is reportedly in talks to become a coach on the singing competition show to replace either the 'God Is a Woman' singer, who 'didn't bring in the ratings,' or the country star as he's the only original coach left.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lopez is allegedly in talks to become a coach on "The Voice". If a new report is to be believed, the "On the Floor" hitmaker will replace either new mentor Ariana Grande or the longtime coach Blake Shelton.

"Everyone was excited when Jennifer Lopez was at the show. There have been a lot of big stars performing on 'The Voice', but there was something different about Jennifer's visit," a source informed Radar following the 52-year-old singer/actress' appearance on the hit singing competition show last December. The source went on to note that executives and producers of the show have tried to "convince" her to join the NBC show.

The informant shared, "All the top exes and producers were on-set that day and after she finished filming there was a lot of closed-door meeting trying to convince her to join the show full-time." The insider further claimed that Ariana's appearance on the show, which has been renewed by NBC and reduced from twice a year to just once due to the low ratings, "didn't bring in the ratings."

"[Ariana] has more social media followers than all the other stars combined, yet her fans didn't tune in," so said the source. "It is safe to say that Ariana won't be back," the insider further spilled.

"Plus, Blake has indicated that it might be time for him to take a break as the shows only original mentor left. The show needs some major excitement," the so-called inside source pointed out. "It needs to be shaken up, which no one does better than JLO."

Producers have apparently been wanting to replace Blake for months now after they struggled to lock Ariana down and were turned away by other artists like Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo as well as The Weeknd. The "God's Country" performer was one of the original coaches alongside Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, when the show kicked off back in April 2011.
