AceShowbiz - It's a short-lived reboot. If a new report is to be believed, "The Hills: New Beginnings is ending after just two seasons.
A source close to the production of "The Hills" reboot claims to Entertainment Tonight that MTV has decided not to renew the reality for its third season. However, it's not the absolute end for "The Hills" franchise.
The insider adds that there are plans to create a reimagination of the franchise. TMZ echoes the report as it states that it "will live on with new iterations to come."
"The Hills: New Beginnings" featured returning stars, including Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Brody Jenner, Whitney Port, Spencer Pratt and Stephannie Pratt. They all came back after starring on the original show, which ran from 2006 to 2010.
Joining the returning stars on "New Beginnings" are Kaitlynn Carter, Brandon Thomas Lee, Mischa Barton, Justin Brescia, Frankie Delgado among others.
While most of the cast members were returning for the revival, Lauren Conrad was notably absent. "I honestly haven't seen it," the fashion designer told Entertainment Tonight. "I think it's great. I'm glad that they were able to do it again."
Lauren continued that she doesn't really watch reality TV shows these days. "It's a little triggering for me," she said at the time.
Season 2 of "New Beginnings", which aired in 2019, premiered in May 2021 before concluding in August of the same year.
"After a year of lockdowns and lost time, Hollywood's most iconic friend group is reuniting. From a highly publicized divorce and rekindling former flames to starting new families and surprise pregnancies, all bets are off this season," an official synopsis of the sophomore season read.
