Meghan previously detailed her experience on the show in her memoir 'Bad Republican', in which she talked about a fight with her former co-host Joy Behar which triggered her postpartum anxiety.

AceShowbiz - Sunny Hostin has reacted to former "The View" co-host Meghan McCain, who said that the talk show has a "toxic" work environment. Sunny weighed in on Meghan and her exit in an interview with The Cut, which was published on November 11.
"I think she thinks that people did not like her or treated her a certain way because of her opinions," the 53-year-old TV personality said of Meghan, who departed from "The View" in July 2021 after four seasons. "I certainly don't share any of her opinions … at all … about anything. But I don't feel that way about her."
Sunny continued, "I can't claim to understand her because I think she's very complicated. Her experience is her experience." She added that while "no one can say that she didn't experience it in that way because it's hers," she "didn't see it that way."
"I didn't experience it the way she did. But I'm going to defer to her that she experienced it like that," Sunny, who is still on the show alongside fellow permanent co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sara Haines, divulged.
Sunny also shared that the show has yet to tap someone to permanently fill in Meghan's place as a conservative co-host. "Right now, we still do need a really conservative voice," she confirmed. "I also believe it's really important to not have someone on the panel who spreads misinformation, who adheres to the big lies, who is an anti-vaxxer, because I think that's dangerous."
Meghan detailed her experience on the show in her new memoir "Bad Republican". Detailing a fight with her former co-host Joy Behar which was triggering her postpartum anxiety, she wrote,"The way I'd been treated on the show as the resident conservative, particularly upon my return from maternity leave, had made it impossible for me to stay. ... In my four years there, I was the target of plenty of shade -- too much to even begin to recount -- and then I also experienced more toxic, direct and purposeful hostility."
She also revealed that Whoopi "had made a promise" to her father late Sen. John McCain that she would look after her on the show. Meghan said that Whoopi did keep her word the first two years that she was on the show before she eventually turned on her.
In the book, Meghan recalled "uncontrollable sobbing" during the commercial break after Joy said she didn't miss Meghan following her maternity leave. "Nothing anyone has ever said to me on camera since I have been giving interviews since I was 22 years old ever hit this hard. I was super hormonal and deeply hurt," she said.
