The cancellation was due to scheduling conflicts as the cast members began new projects, preventing the full ensemble from participating. Despite this, the anniversary event on October 8 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, will still go ahead. Fans who purchased tickets for the canceled dates, which included stops in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston, and others, will be eligible for refunds through the original point of purchase.

Issa Rae shared the cancellation through a comedic video posted on her HOORAE Instagram account, explaining that they chose to cancel the tour rather than perform without the entire team. In the video, the cast and Prentice Penny expressed regret and emphasized their desire to deliver the best experience for fans. Jay Ellis appeared from the set of his current project, The Rookie North, while Natasha Rothwell apologized for the disappointing news.
