AceShowbiz - The cast of Insecure, including Issa Rae, has canceled their 10th anniversary tour just days before it was set to begin. The planned 13-city tour featuring Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, and former showrunner Prentice Penny will no longer take place, with only one event remaining.
The cancellation was due to scheduling conflicts as the cast members began new projects, preventing the full ensemble from participating. Despite this, the anniversary event on October 8 at YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, will still go ahead. Fans who purchased tickets for the canceled dates, which included stops in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, Atlanta, Houston, and others, will be eligible for refunds through the original point of purchase.
Issa Rae shared the cancellation through a comedic video posted on her HOORAE Instagram account, explaining that they chose to cancel the tour rather than perform without the entire team. In the video, the cast and Prentice Penny expressed regret and emphasized their desire to deliver the best experience for fans. Jay Ellis appeared from the set of his current project, The Rookie North, while Natasha Rothwell apologized for the disappointing news.
Issa Rae is widely recognized for creating and starring in Insecure, the HBO series that ran for five seasons and earned her multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. The show, which premiered in 2016, follows the life of an African American woman navigating relationships, career, and culture.
The cancellation highlights the challenges of coordinating tour schedules for busy actors and creative teams, especially as they move on to new projects after a landmark series. The remaining anniversary event in Inglewood carries special significance, as the city was a central setting throughout the series.
