After being hit with nearly 50 lawsuits following the tragic concert, the 'Sicko Mode' rapper calls off his upcoming performance in Saudia Arabia as well as at the Day N Vegas festival.

AceShowbiz - Travis Scott (II) is losing out on lots of opportunities following the tragic Astroworld Festival. The "Sicko Mode" rapper has officially canceled his upcoming performance in Saudi Arabia, which was billed as a $5.5 million show.
The 30-year-old rapper canceled his Saudi Arabia show after calling off his headlining performance at the Day N Vegas festival. However, he is still scheduled to perform at Coachella in April 2022, although fans have started a petition to have him replaced on the lineup.
The news came after Travis as well as Astroworld Festival organizers were hit with lawsuits. Nearly 50 legal documents have been filed against the "Goosebumps" rapper, Live Nation and ScoreMore. More lawsuits are expected to be filed before the end of this week.
Following the deadly concert, there is currently also a criminal investigation open with the FBI's involvement. If it's proven that Travis knew about people dying in the crowd without stopping the show, he could potentially be facing time in prison.
Travis agreed to pay for the funeral expenses related to the eight people who died at the show. "These are the first of many steps Travis plans on taking as a part of his personal vow to assist those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process," his representative said.
In a statement published on Wednesday, November 10, Travis' attorney Edwin F. McPherson said that "there has been multiple finger-pointing." Edwin added, "Much of which has been by city officials, who have sent inconsistent messages and have backtracked from original statements."
Edwin continued to cite Houston Chief of Police Troy Finner's recent interview with The New York Times where he said the police department didn't shut down the festival out of concern fans might riot. "Yet, just a short time later, Chief Finner states the responsibility to stop the show falls on Travis," Edwin said.
"It was reported that the Operations Plan designated that only the festival director and executive producers have authority to stop the show, neither of which is part of Travis's crew," Edwin continued. "This also runs afoul of HPD's own previous actions when it shut down the power and sound at this very festival when the performance ran over 5 minutes back in 2019."
Edwin further stated that "investigations should start proceeding over finger-pointing." The lawyer noted, "So that together, we can identify exactly what transpired and how we can prevent anything like this from happening again."
