One of two people arrested during protest in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, Caleb Murray is charged with malicious destruction of property and a threat to commit a crime among others.

AceShowbiz - Bill Murray's son is no longer under police custody. Caleb Murray was one of two people being taken into police custody following an incident during a peaceful protest in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, but he was released from jail after a bail was set.

Caleb was arrested on Monday afternoon, June 1 after he was thought to have broken the window of fellow arrestee Eric Woods' truck. The Martha's Vineyard Times reported that he was charged with malicious destruction of property, a threat to commit a crime, three counts of assault and battery on a police officer, making terroristic threats, and disorderly conduct.

Before his Tuesday, June 2 arraignment, the charges of making terrorist threats and malicious destruction of property against the 27-year-old were dropped by Edgartown District Court Clerk-Magistrate Liza Williamson. "Truck was surrounded by protestors, glass broke, Murray fell to his knees, but no nexus for [probable cause] for vandalism or [malicious] destruction," so Lisa wrote in the court document.

The MV Times further cited police report about Caleb being uncooperative while being transported to the Dukes County Regional Lockup in Massachusetts. He was alleged to have also spit on and bit officer Mike Cutrer who was seen handcuffing him at the scene of the incident.

"Eventually Officer Cutrer was able to finish the transport to the jail, where [Murray] again became uncooperative, attacking deputies," the report continued to read. "After being put into a cell, he then used a piece of the cell to not only cut himself but cut the deputies." it went on to note, "At the jail, Murray was overheard by Officer [Edward] St. Pierre saying that once he got out of jail he was going to burn down all the [expletive] buildings."

While Caleb was initially ordered held without bail until a hospital bed was available for treatment, E! News reported that a $10,000 bail was later set. The outlet claimed that he got out of jail at around 6 P.M. on Tuesday. A pretrial hearing for his case was set for July 31.

The incident leading to Caleb's arrest, according to the Vineyard Gazette, took place at Five Corners at approximately 6:30 P.M. on Monday. It began with fellow arrestee Eric getting into verbal altercation with protesters for yelling a racial slur and made an obscene gesture. As the tension escalate, he was alleged to punch a 19-year-old male, prompting a large crowd forming around his truck.
