AceShowbiz - Meghan McCain seemingly has responded to a petition calling for her removal from "The View". The conservative co-host took to Instagram Stories on Friday, January 3 to post a defiant quote about her making the road.

"I make the road," read the quote, which was attributed to the late Denis Johnson, a poet and author known for his books Jesus' Son and the National Book Award for Fiction winner Tree of Stone. "I draw the map. Nothing just happens to me... I'm the one happening."

The daughter of 2008 presidential candidate and U.S. senator John McCain didn't explicitly say that the quote was her response to the petition that has more than 5,000 signatures as of now. However, considering the timing, it was only natural for people to perceive the post as her response.

The petition was launched earlier this week with the petitioner wanting "The View" to drop Meghan and bring back previous co-hosts Ana Navarro or Jedidiah Bila. "Anyone who like me has watched The View for years and has seen the sourness and immaturity that Meghan has brought to the show doesn't need much persuasion," wrote the petitioner.

"Let's get her OFF our favorite morning show and back to Faux News where she can safely keep discussing Obama possibly faking tears with onions after little children were murdered at school," the petitioner continued.

The petition gained attention on social media as it had hundreds of comments from signers. "Although it is THE VIEW - it has been more like 'Meghan's View,' that that is unacceptable," one person wrote in the comment section. "MM is highly disrespectful, very self centered. We should have viewpoints of all , but MM takes it to the extremes. She needs to go to a different place."

"Although I appreciate having a conservative voice on the show, Meghan acts like a child rather than a grown woman. When she speaks, its all about her and her family rather than the issue being discussed," read another comment. Meanwhile, one other called Meghan "screaming, overbearing, disrespectful CHILD."
