Teen Choice Awards 2019: 'Riverdale' Rules TV Department With 4 Wins

Trailing behind the Archie Comics series is 'Stranger Things' with 3 victories as the fantasy series nabs the title of Choice Summer TV Show at the annual award-giving event.

AceShowbiz - The full list of TV winners at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards, which took place on Sunday, August 11, has been revealed. The CW's "Riverdale" came out as the biggest winner in the department as it bagged four trophies including one for Choice Drama TV Show.

The Archie Comics series beat "Good Trouble", "Marvel's Runaways", "Star" and "The Resident" among others. Actor Cole Sprouse was also named Choice Drama TV Actor for his portrayal as Jughead on the show. Her girlfriend Lili Reinhart, meanwhile, nabbed the trophy for Choice Drama TV Actress, besting fellow "Riverdale" star Camila Mendes, Cierra Ramirez ("Good Trouble"), Maia Mitchell ("Good Trouble"), Ryan Destiny ("Star") and Sofia Carson ("Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists").

The night marked one of the biggest nights for Lili and Cole as they were announced to be the winner of Choice Ship category for their roles on "Riverdale", though the pair unfortunately skipped the award-giving event.

Trailing behind "Riverdale" was Netflix's "Stranger Things". The fantasy series nabbed the title of Choice Summer TV Show. The show also earned stars Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown trophies for Choice Summer TV Actor and Choice Summer TV Actress respectively.

As for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, the award was presented to "Shadowhunters" with star Katherine McNamara" being named as Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress. Going home with the trophy for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor was "Supernatural" star Jared Padalecki.

The night also saw "Friends" winning Choice Throwback TV Show and "America's Got Talent" collecting the trophy for Choice Reality TV Show. Meanwhile, "The Big Bang Theory" bested "black-ish", "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", "Fuller House", "Jane the Virgin" and "One Day at a Time".

Meanwhile, "Avengers: Endgame" came out as the biggest winner in movie field, with Shawn Mendes and BTS (Bangtan Boys) leading the winners in the music category.
