Ed Sheeran Sets New Record on Billboard 200 With 'No. 6 Collaborations Project'

The collaboration album, which features the likes of Cardi B and 50 Cent, arrives atop the weekly chart with 173,000 equivalent album units, including 70,000 in traditional album sales.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran now has three chart-topping album. His star-studded album "No. 6 Collaborations Project" debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200. Released on July 12 through Atlantic Records, the album racked up 173,000 album units, including 70,000 in traditional album sales, in the week ending July 18, according to Nielsen Music.

With that, "No. 6 Collaborations Project" marks the largest week of the year for a pop album by a male artist. In addition to that, it nets the seventh-largest week among all albums in total units this year, following Jonas Brothers' "Happiness Begins" (414,000 units), Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next" (360,000 units), Billie Eilish's "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" (313,000 units), Backstreet Boys' "DNA" (234,000 units), Bangtan Boys' "Map of the Soul: Persona" (230,000 units) and Khalid's "Free Spirit" (202,000 units).

Trailing behind Ed's collaboration album is Billie's "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" which is a non-mover at No. 2 with 60,000 equivalent album units. At No. 3, the third installment of "Revenge of the Dreamers" is forced to give up its No. 1 spot with 55,000 units in its second week. Meanwhile, Lil Nas X's "7" holds its No. 4 position with 50,000 units.

Another former chart topper, Chris Brown's "Indigo", slips again this week to No. 5 with 42,000 units, while Lizzo's "Cuz I Love You" is steady at No. 6 with 33,000 units. Khalid's "Free Spirit" is also stationery at No. 7 with 31,000 units, followed by Post Malone's "Beerbongs & Bentleys" again this week with 25,000 units. On the other hand, Jonas Brothers' "Happiness Begins" climbs to No. 9 with 23,000 units. DaBaby's "Baby on Baby" rounds out this week's top ten with 23,000 units.

Next week, Beyonce Knowles-curated "The Lion King" soundtrack album is expected to shake things up on the weekly chart.
