The former NBA player is under investigation as he's named a suspect in an alleged battery that went down last week in Delray Beach, Florida, but he insists that 'nothing happened.'

AceShowbiz - Dennis Rodman denies an attack at his 58th birthday party. The retired professional basketball player has responded to allegations that he randomly slapped a man at a bar in Delray Beach, Florida last week.

Met by TMZ Sports in Orange County, CA on Friday, May 24, the former NBA star was asked about the alleged incident. "It didn't happen," he said. He went on insisting, "I don't hit anybody in the world. Never in my life."

When asked if he's worried about the legal issue that he's now facing regarding the alleged attack, he said he's not worried about it and his lawyer is taking care of it. Dennie added, "Nothing happened," before the interview concluded.

Dennis has been accused of smacking a guest at his birthday bash at the Buddha Sky Bar on last Friday, May 17. The accuser, 30-year-old Jeff Soulouque, said he was hanging at the party when the New Jersey native "unprovokedly turned around and smacked him," right in the face, TMZ reported earlier this week.

Jeff said Dennis immediately apologized to him for the incident and invited him out to dinner the following night in an attempt to make peace. But the alleged victim said he was really hurt and went to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a left corneal abrasion. Jeff filed a police report about the incident a day later, on Saturday.

Cops are currently investigating the matter and have called up a witness named David Lee Roth, but it's not the Van Halen singer. The witness has corroborated Jeff's story. "Roth stated he was about twenty feet away and he saw Rodman turn around and open hand smack Soulouque two times," the report states. Cops have officially named Dennis as a suspect and are now looking for video that captured the incident.

Dennis' attorney Lorne Berkeley stated, "I've spoken with people who were with Dennis the entire night of the alleged incident at Buddha Sky Bar. No one saw any such incident occur and Dennis was sober the entire night." The attorney added, "Currently the matter is in its preliminary stages but we fully expect after a thorough investigation that no such incident will be substantiated. Dennis denies any such incident occurred."

The slapping accusations come weeks after he was accused of being involved in a clothing heist at a Newport Beach yoga studio. The former athlete was caught on video distracting employees at the store while one of his female friends stuffed clothing into her purse. The case is still being investigated in California and Dennis has denied the accusations.
