The 57-year-old basketball player is seen in a video appearing to distract employees at VIBES Hot Yoga in Newport Beach, California while one of his friends stuffs clothes into her purse.

AceShowbiz - Dennis Rodman has been accused of participating in a daytime clothing heist. The owners of VIBES Hot Yoga claimed that the NBA legend helped his friends steal clothing from the store that is located in Newport Beach, California. The theft reportedly took place around 12:45 P.M. on Tuesday, May 7.

In the surveillance video obtained by TMZ, Dennis could be seen entering the store with two women and a man. He then appeared to be distracting employees while one of the women stuffed clothing into her purse. Things got weirder after that, with the athlete's male companion grabbing a $2,500 crystal art piece and trying to put it on his dolly. He allegedly claimed that he would buy the piece.

However, he ended up dropping and shattering the crystal. While the staff was distracted by it, Dennis' female companion stuffed more clothes into her purse. The group eventually left the store with the shattered crystal piece on the dolly. According to the store owner, Dennis blamed the staff for the broken crystal and refused to pay. In addition to the crystal, they reportedly made off with $500 worth of clothing.

Dennis has denied the accusation, claiming to TMZ that it was a big misunderstanding. Contrary to the allegation, the athlete said that the employees at the shop told his friends that they could take "a couple of gifts" in exchange for helping to move the giant crystal art piece. Without giving further explanation, he added, "I tried to help … as the good person I am."

When asked why the store owners filed a police report if what he said was true, Dennis said that the clothing store was just looking for "exposure."

The Newport Beach Police Department confirmed that the case is currently being investigated.
