One contestant is forced to be hospitalized after he loses his voice, and it seems like his group will perform as a trio later for their Group Round performance.

AceShowbiz - "American Idol" season 17 aired its Hollywood Week on Sunday, March 24. The new round of the competition would see 175 contestants, who previously were given golden tickets, performing in California in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. They were split into lines for the first portion of this competition, and the judges would chose only a certain number of people from each line to go to the next round.

Laci Kaye Booth kicked off the night with a performance of Aretha Franklin's "Natural Woman". She put a country twist on her rendition that made the judges give her a standing applause at the end of her performance.

Next up was Alejandro Aranda, who was also on Laci's lane. He prepared a rendition of "Sorry" by Justin Bieber which successfully impressed the judges. After the entire line had performed, the three judges decided to pick Alejandro and Laci as part of the group who would move forward.

Courtney Penry sang "I'm A Whole Lotta Woman". Unfortunately, it wasn't her best performance as she forgot some words of the song. The judges decided to send her home. Her performance was followed by Madison Vanderburgh, who opted to sing "Already Gone" for the night. Once again, she blew everyone's mind away.

Singing Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" was Margie Mays. Later, alongside Margie and Madision who were on the same line as them, Tyler Mitchell and Logan Johnson were selected to move on.

Eddie Island sang "I Will Follow You Into the Dark". Despite feeling sick at the time, he made it onto the Group Round. Shawn Robinson, who was on another line of 10, then performed "Change Is Gonna Come" by Sam Cook, while Colby Swift chose to perform "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" by Freddy Fender. Colby and Shawn were joined by Dalton Elliot and Katie Bell as the contestants from their line who would be going to the next round.

Ashton Gill and Laine Hardy were on the same line. The former did Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" with Laine singing "She Talks to Angels". While Laine was sent to the next round, it was the end of Ashton's journey on "American Idol".

Myra Tran offered a powerful rendition of "Chandelier" by Sia Furler. It was so stunning that the judges picked her to move on to the next round alongside Jade Flores and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, the latter of whom sang Carole King's "Beautiful".

On the next line, Walker Burroughs kicked things off with a performance of Stevie Wonder's "Whereabouts". It was later followed with Nate Walker who belted out "I Believe in You and Me" by Whitney Houston. The two of them were sent to the next round.

Lauren Engle and Nick Townsend made use of their auditions to pay tributes to their loved ones. Lauren sang "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood, while Nick opted for Shawn Mendes' "Life of the Party". Nick moved to the next round, though Lauren was sent home.

Wade Cota later performed "Litost" by X Ambassadors, earning a standing ovation from the three judges. Meanwhile, Katy was brought to tears after Dimitrius Graham sang a beautiful rendition of "Wind Beneath My Wings", which was dedicated to his mom. The two of them moved onto the Group Round.

The contestants came down to 98 and were later tasked with forming groups to put together a performance for the judges. Myra, Jade, Moriah Formica and Juan Pablo performed "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson. All of them except Jade were moving on to the next round. The next performance was by Zebulon Spencer, Ethan Payene and Chloe Channell who were not chosen to move on.

Singing "Grenande" by Bruno Mars were Laci Kaye Booth, Katie Belle, Laine Hardy and Colby Swift. They had some issues during the performance as Colby forgot the words during his solo. While the other three were chosen to go to the next round, Colby was eliminated. Despite struggling while performing "California Dreamin' " since he'd never heard the song before, Wade Cota managed to pull it together and joined others in the next round.

While preparing for her group performance, Shayy, who's legally blind, was struggling. However, she managed to get through and was sent to the next round with some help and encouragement from her group.

She was not the only one who faced some issues during the preparation ahead of the Group Round performance. Nate Walker lost his voice, forcing him to get checked out by doctors. It was said that he needed to go to the hospital for further threatment. It seemed like his group would move on by performing as a trio, but viewers will be able to find out in the next episode of Hollywood Week which airs tomorrow.
