In a statement, NFL announces that the Adam Levine-fronted band as well as Travis Scott and Big Boi will participate in a 'social and digital media rollout' instead of press conference.

AceShowbiz - It appears the backlash surrounding the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show continues to heat up to the point that there won't be any press conference for Maroon 5 ahead of the show. The National Football League made the announcement just five days before the band will take the stage along with Travis Scott (II) and Big Boi.

"Maroon 5 has been working hard on a Pepsi Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show that will meet and exceed the standards of this event," so a statement from the organization read. "As it is about music, the artist will let their show do the talking as they prepare to take the stage this Sunday."

NFL additionally stated that the Adam Levine-fronted band and the rappers would participate in a "social and digital media rollout" in advance of the televised show.

Instead of holding a press conference, Maroon 5 announced that they had teamed up with NFL and Interscope Records to make a $500,000 contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. It is a 501 non-profit organization whose goal is to help all children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with volunteer mentors.

"Playing the Super Bowl has been a dream of our band for a long time," Adam told PEOPLE through a statement. "We thank the NFL for the opportunity and also to them, along with Interscope Records, for making this donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters, which will have a major impact for children across the country."

Maroon 5's decision to make a donation follows fellow headliner, Travis, who revealed that he agreed to sign on for the event on the condition that NFL would join him to donate $500,000 to Dream Corps, a non-profit organization that champions social justice.

Super Bowl LIII will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, February 3.
