In addition to canceling the Andy Samberg-starrer, the network decides to pull the plug on two more shows, 'The Mick' and 'The Last Man on Earth'.

AceShowbiz - "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" has been canned by FOX after five seasons. The network confirmed the devastating news on Thursday, May 10.

The cancellation arrives after the Andy Samberg-starring comedy hit the 100-episode milestone earlier this current season 5.

Despite the buzz and critical praise, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" fame is not reflected quite well in the Nielsens. Season 5 averaged 2.7 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in the key 18-to-49-year-old demo. It shows a decrease from the previous season, in which the series averaged of 2.9 million viewers and a 1.3 rating among 18-to-49-year olds.

The series is set to wrap its fifth and final season on May 20.

Following the cancellation news, co-creator and executive Dan Goor takes to Twitter to thank fans for their "incredible outpouring of support." He adds, "#brooklyn99 fans are the best fans in the world. It means the world to me and everyone else who works on the show."

Meanwhile, cast member Melissa Fumero says she is "still processing" the news. "don't have all the words.. but.. These last 5 years have been incredible. Thank you for all your love and support. We have the best fans. It's been a huge honor to play Amy and be a part of this tremendous ensemble. NINE NINE! #Brooklyn99," she wrote.

The show's cast and crew are not the only ones feeling sad over the cancellation. Seth Meyers, Mark Hamill and Lin-Manuel Miranda are among those who are mourning on the micro-blogging site. "News on @Brooklyn99FOX and @LastManFOX is a double gut punch. Two great shows with hilarious writing and terrific ensembles," Meyers tweets.

Meanwhile, the Luke Skywalker depicter writes, "Oh NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I'm SO not ready to say #ByeBye99. Be forewarned @FOXTV-when networks dump shows I love, I'm known for holding grudges a long, L-O-N-G time. I'm still mad @CBS didn't renew #SquarePegs!" As for Miranda, he demands FOX to "RENEW BROOKLYN NINE NINE" because the comedy apparently is one of the "4 THINGS" he only watches.

In addition to canceling "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", the network decides to pull the plug on two more shows, "The Mick" and "The Last Man on Earth". "The Mick", starring Kaitlin Olson, is canceled after it recently aired its season 2 finale. As for "The Last Man on Earth", the cancellation arrives after it wrapped its season 4.
