Kesha Scores Second No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 With 'Rainbow'

The songstress' first album in five years blasts to No. 1, while rapper MoneyBagg Yo scores first top 10 effort with 'Federal 3X'.

AceShowbiz - Ke$ha's new album "Rainbow" debuts atop Billboard 200, marking her second No. 1 effort on the chart. Making its way out via Kamosabe/RCA Records, the set racked up 116,000 equivalent album units, including 89,000 in traditional album sales in the week ending August 17, according to Nielsen Music.

"Rainbow" scores the second-largest week for an album by a woman this year, following Katy Perry's "Witness", which launched with 180,000 units last month. The album is Kesha's first studio effort in nearly five years. She landed at No. 6 on the chart back in 2012 with "Warrior."

Trailing behind "Rainbow" is Kendrick Lamar's "DAMN.", which slips to No. 2 with 43,000 units after nabbing its fourth non-consecutive week atop the chart. DJ Khaled's star-studded set "Grateful" stays steady at No. 3 with 34,000 units.

R&B singer Khalid's "American Teen" blasts to No. 4 with 32,000 units. The album debuted at No. 9 six months ago and ranked within the top 25 for weeks. At No. 5, rapper MoneyBagg Yo nabs his first top 10 with "Federal 3X". It does better than expected on the chart with 30,000 units, including 14,000 in traditional album sales. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran's former No. 1 album "Divide (division sign)" ascends to No. 6 with 28,000 units.

SZA's "Ctrl" dips from No. 6 to No. 8 with 27,000 units. 21 Savage's "Issa Album" falls to No. 8 with a little more than 26,000 units, while Imagine Dragons' "Evolve" slips to No. 9 with 26,000 units. At No. 10, Bruno Mars' "24K Magic" returns to the top 10 with 25,000 units.
