In an elegant apartment building on Melrose in Los Angeles, a diverse group of 20-something have formed a surrogate family. Landlady Sydney Andrew is a central figure in the liver of her tenants, especially handsome David Breck, despite her history with David's father, Dr. Michael Mancini. Sydney also plays a pivotal role in the lives of publicist Ella Simms, chef Auggie Kirkpatrick, medical student Lauren Yung, filmmaker Jonah Miller, teacher Riley Richmond, and 18-year-old Violet Foster. When a blood body is found floating in the courtyard pool, the police discover that everyone living at Melrose Place had a reason to want the deceased out of the way.
